The Derby-headquartered company has been shortlisted for the Automotive, Aerospace and Rail Award category of the Made in the Midlands Awards, for its design, surveying, modelling and fabrication and delivery of structural steelwork at the new £82 million Coventry Station.

The work from Structural Fabrications Ltd at Coventry Station supported the delivery of a state of the art new-look station building complete with a distinctive entrance for the city of Coventry.

Now in its twelfth year, the Insider Made in the Midlands has grown from modest beginnings to become a premier division event that regularly attracts entries from more than 70 companies.

Structural Fabrications Ltd has been shortlisted for the Automotive, Aerospace and Rail Award alongside three other Midlands-based firms- MarchantCain Design, Envisage Group and Transport Design International.

Discussing the nomination, Structural Fabrications Ltd’s Managing Director, Suj Kang, said:

“We’re thrilled to have been nominated for a Made in the Midlands Award and to be part of this annual celebration of the region’s manufacturing prowess. It’s great to be recognised for our ongoing work in the steel and manufacturing industries, where we have been operating and providing high quality solutions for almost 30 years.

“The Coventry Station transformation was a prestigious project for us to have been involved in. The complex designing and installation of the station’s structural steelwork involved meticulous attention to detail, so it’s great to see our team’s hard work recognised with this nomination.”

The winners of the Made in the Midlands 2022 Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on 26 May at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham.
